Subject Synopses
CID1C05 Interactive Multimedia
This subject aims to introduce students to the characteristics and applications of interactive multimedia. It also equips students will the knowledge and skills to implement an interactive multimedia application. It covers the technologies for developing an interactive multimedia application. The design and development phases of an interactive multimedia project will also be covered so that students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to implement an interactive multimedia application.
This subject provides students with an understanding of the importance of design concepts in the interface development life cycle and the basic knowledge of usability in interface development. The subject also equips students with the ability to apply design concepts and be resourceful in visual design and information research; develop and strengthen visual literacy and visual communication skills. This subject will enable student to create innovative interface designs by introducing development methodologies and usability principles. This subject covers the fundamentals, concept and design theories for user interface development.
CID1C07 Psychology for Technology-Based Learning and Consumer Behaviour#
This subject introduces students to the fundamentals of education psychology and how it influences the design and implementation of technology-based learning. Students will be exposed to different forms of technology-based learning products and examine their influence on consumer behaviour.
CID2E03 Introduction to 3D Animation#
This subject provides students with a basic knowledge and understanding of 3D modeling techniques for animation and computer games. This subject will cover the fundamentals of creating three-dimensional objects and environments. Students will learn basic 3D concepts relating to model making. These skills will be applied to multimedia, games and Internet applications using current technology.
CID2E04 Technology for Course Delivery (LMS)#
The aim of this subject is to enable students to evaluate and select the appropriate Learning Management Systems to deliver their interactive learning solutions. They will learn to manage such platforms and be familiar with the common features and functions of learning systems.
CID2E05 Introduction to Pedagogical Approaches for Learning & Instructional Design#
This subject provides students with a foundation into learning pedagogy. Students will be introduced to general pedagogical approaches in learning and their roles in learning. The subject will cover major principles of pedagogy and how they apply in both traditional and emerging learning environments. Key pedagogical concepts and principles will also be introduced to equip students with the ability to develop and implement learning activities. Students will also study instructional design concepts and discuss the merits of the methods available. The subject will also explore new and traditional instructional design models and discuss the application of such models to their related environments.
CID3C01 Interactive Edutainment Project
The project allows participants to demonstrate the practical application of knowledge and skills attained in the course. In this module, students will propose and present technology papers and proof of concepts as well as design and implement learning products in Interactive Digital Media
