2006 - Power98 Carvivor Rally

It was sheer excitement at the Sky Tower Power98 Carvivor Rally organised by SAFRA Radio Power98 on Sunday 10th Sep 2006. Thirty students from the Info Tech School had a chance to soak in this thrilling event as they worked alongside bubbly DJs from Power98.

Amongst other duties, our students acted as game marshals and also helped make lime juice, separate beans and fold paper planes for participants to compete for the grand cash prize of S$10,000.

Power98 provided Temasek Polytechnic (TP) with the privilege of complimentary coverage and publicity by making a total of 15 live on-air announcements acknowledging TP as one of their supporting partners for the event.   Three of our students were also interviewed for Power98’s roving reports that day.

So, what did the students think about their experiences?

“The whole activity was really fun and interesting, despite being exhausting. We were able to play around and give encouragements to the contestants. We were also able to interact with the DJs. I would definitely like to participate in events such as this again.” Teh Xue Fen, Shellen

“I found the event quite fun though a bit tiring because we had to marshal the participants. When I was interviewed live on air, I was really nervous, though the DJ had already told me the questions she was going to ask me. It was great to be talking personally to a DJ.” Cavin Chang

I am very glad to be given an opportunity to be involved in this event. I enjoyed it very much. I learnt to be more confident when speaking to the public and my friends and I were very much entertained by thecontestants when they were playing the game. We could not stop laughing. We definitely had so much fun being game marshals.” Shirin Bte Osman
