Two teams comprising students from the Diploma in Financial Business Informatics have clinched the Champion and 1st Runner-up placing in the Junior Achievement (JA) Titan Competition held on 18 November 2011.
Freshmen students, Low Chenhao, How Zhiteng and Liew Wei Zhuang from Team C2W, and Chaw Ji Boon, Ong Yan Kai and Teo Tian Shun Kenneth from Team Sparks pitted their knowledge and skills against more than 40 teams from the Polytechnics, ITEs and Junior Colleges.
In the JA Titan Competition, organised by Junior Achievement Singapore, students compete in a web-based simulation environment by running a virtual company. The performance of each team is judged by the Performance Index (PI) of their company, which is affected by every business decision that they make. The competition aims to instil within students the understanding of critical business practices and the effect which management decisions have on a company's bottom line.
