A team of three students from the Diploma in Mobile and Wireless Computing jived their way to clinch the TOP position at the JavaJive Challenge Sun Developer Day on 18 July 2007.

Darren Ang Chin Yang, Goh Chew Yan and Serene Tan Xue Ying, Senior students of the Diploma in Mobile and Wireless Computing clinched this award with their project jWatch. The students created an application that allows people to watch videos ‘on the go’ using a wifi-enabled phone anywhere in the world.

With the growing availability of wi-fi services, this application is set to be a hit. Traveling on a train to work or waiting at the hospital for an appointment will no longer be a tedium – with an application that allows you to watch videos anywhere and anytime, you’ll never be bored

The Strategic Initiative Director of Sun Microsystems, Singapore, commended the team on an excellent project !
