Student, Koh Teck Hong, from the Diploma in Internet & Multimedia Development, won top prize in the Splash Awards 2007 Animation Creation (Tertiary) Category.
The Splash Awards, jointly organized by SCS, SIM and IDA, is part of the National Infocomm Competition circuit. It is an annual inter-school competition that allows students to hone their skills and showcase their talent in Infocomm. Contestants were required to create an animation to bring across the theme ‘Designing the Future of Infocomm’.
Teck Hong and his supervisor, Mr. Woo Boon Seong, had several brainstorming sessions and finally settled on a theme that extols the advances of interactive digital media but at the same time communicates to the audience that the human touch can never be replaced. Teck Hong’s entry entitled ‘The Futurity’ beat other entries from NTU, RP and RJC. The top prize he bagged includes a cash prize of S$1200 and a set of XBOX 360.
