TP recently held its very first National Day Celebration (NDC) song writing and singing competition for its staff and students as part of National Day celebrations on campus.
Freshmen from the Diploma in Information Technology, Lew De Jun Ivor, Melvin Quan Weng Long and Yaz Yudistira Arjuna aka Diz emerged as second prize winners with their song entry entitled One Star! The lyrics highlight the meaning of the Singapore flag and what each star represents.
The win came as a pleasant surprise for the boys as they have no musical training and it is the first time they have taken part in such a competition. “We happened to look at the competition poster and decided to participate and make our School of IIT proud”, they shared.
Indeed, the school is very proud of their win and can’t wait to hear them perform it during the TP NDC Celebrations on 8 August.
