2nd Year, Dip ITO students Eddie Cheng, Edwin Goh & Leow Li Yao won the top Prize at the Motorola J2ME Developer Contest. They walked away with S$5000 and a Motorola handset.
Their fellow 2nd Year Dip ITO students Loke Lup Peng, Jonah Victor Dela Cruz & Alvin Chin also did the School proud by winning the 1st Runner-up prize for Enterprise Application. They received a cash prize of S$500 and a Motorola handset.
The MOTODEV J2ME Developer Contest was organised by Motorola Electronics Pte Ltd. The contest challenges creative young minds to channel their powers of imagination and creativity to push the borders of mobile communications. The 1st and 2nd rounds were held from 8 August to 13 October 2006 with over 60 teams from NUS, NTU, SMU, Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic.
10 teams were selected to showcase their applications in the final rounds on Saturday, 14 October 2006. Two of our four teams were selected for the finals. The remaining 8 teams were from NTU, NUS, SP and TP's Engineering School.
