Ten teams from the various polytechnics participated recently in the National InterPoly Connected Home 2006 Competition held on 17 Nov 2006 at Republic Polytechnic. The competition, organized by PC Magazine and supported by industry vendors such as Linksys, NEC and Brother, required participants to setup a secured wireless network for small offices and home offices.
Info Tech School sent in 4 final year Internet Computing students for this competition. They formed an all boys and all girls team to prepare for this event. The team members were:
1. Networkers: Levin Soh and Ang Kok Tai and
2. Floridas: Florine Lian and Ada Yap
Each team was given two hours to complete a set of tasks that included product selection, with a budget constraint, and scalability. The teams were also required to provide network layout and design, and security implementation plans.
Our teams did us proud by coming in 2nd (Floridas) and 3rd (Networkers). Well done !!
