2006 - SIET Achievement Awards

Prem Raj, a Diploma in Internet Computing Senior student, received the Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET) Achievement Award (Polytechnic) in August 2006. A sum of S$1,500 was awarded to Prem to supplement his polytechnic education. He is 1 of 14 recipients of the award for students at the polytechnic level.

Prem's impressive academic performance in his Freshman and Junior years had earned him a place on the Director's List. This, coupled with Prem's performance at an interview helped him secure this special award. Prem had also taken the opportunity at the interview to show his multimedia portfolio and had even offered to assist SIET in revamping its website.

SIET is a non-profit organisation that is governed by prominent civic and community leaders. The objective of the Trust is to provide financial assistance to the less fortunate in the Indian community so that they obtain a good education and are able to compete to acquire good jobs and a decent standard of living.
