2006 - Thumbs Up for the Temasek Trio!

It is not everyday that three outstanding young students who studied together at Temasek Secondary School move on to pursue the same diploma course at Temasek Polytechnic’s Information Technology School. Not only that, they wound up being the top three course medal winners of the Diploma in Information Technology at the 2006 Graduation Ceremony of the Temasek Info Tech School.

Steve Teo Wai Ming was presented the Lee Kuan Award for excellence in academic work and outstanding achievements in other areas. He is also the recipient of the Course Gold Medal, Apple Computer South Asia Prize, Oral Corporation Singapore Prize and the Singapore Computer Systems Prize. Steve represented Temasek Polytechnic and Singapore at the Microsoft Office Academic Skills Challenge in USA in 2005 and is currently preparing for the WorldSkills Competition to be held in July 2005.

Daniel Lee Kuan Hwee was awarded the Course Gold Medal, the Hewlett Packard Singapore Prize and the Oracle Corporation Prize. Daniel is also preparing for the finals of the WorldSkills Competition in July 2005.

Sathya Kumar secured the Course Bronze Medal. He also receives the Oracle Corporation Singapore Prize. Both Sathya and Daniel had worked on a final year project that won two top prizes at the Sun Microsystems JavaJive Competition in April 2005.

All three students have excelled at the Temasek Information Technology School and have secured places at the local universities. They plan to pursue a degree in Computer Science at the National University of Singapore.
