Impressed by the animated work done by the Internet and Multimedia Development (IND) students, the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) approached the Info Tech School to help create a commercial animation for an up-and-coming event: The Invisible Enemy, Singapore’s Encounter with Infectious Diseases – Past, Present & Future.
Working within a tight deadline of 3 weeks, IND students Sin Zhong Han, Nur Farhana and Gerald Seah were commissioned to work on this project. Their lecturer, Cherry Thian, composed the background music while fellow lecturers, Jean Looi and Rick Toh, supervised the project.
The animation is now playing on the NEL MRT screens and also on MICA’s partner web sites. It will soon appear on SCV channels too.
Project supervisor, Rick Toh, had this to say about the experience: ‘It was a good learning experience for the students. Creating animation clips for a TV platform was something new and they learnt much through the experience. It has been rewarding.’
